There is no home in the whole world without plumbing system and where there is a plumbing system we will definitely need a plumber now and then but now a days we often hear a term “green plumbing” and the plumbers who do this kind of plumbing are called “green plumbers”. Now what is this green plumbing? Green Plumbing is basically plumbing that uses less energy, less water, less chemicals for a better, cleaner environment (and a lower utilities bill).
Green Plumbing practices can help homeowners save on their electricity bill, lower their water bill and help improve the environment. From toilets that use less water per flush (low flow toilets) to faucets that use less water (low flow faucets) to showerheads that use less water (low flow showerheads) to front load washing machines and front load dryers and much more!!! Green plumbers are plumbers that have been trained to use the most efficient products and appliances when carrying out their duties. The Green Plumber training program was developed by the Master Plumber’s and Mechanical Services Association and till now, nearly 4000 plumbers have completed the training.
These plumbers are able to provide advice on appliances that use water most efficiently (such as the washing machine, shower and toilet) and also on plumbing components themselves (water efficient taps, flow restrictors). They are able to give you an estimate on the short and long term costs of water efficient appliances, what the greenhouse gas emissions are and, of course, the water efficiency. But to become a genuine green plumber there are some courses like such as 32-hour accreditation in environmental and technical issues including Climate Care (8 hrs), Caring For Our Water (8 hrs), Solar Hot Water (4 hrs), Water Efficient Technology (8 hrs), and an Inspection Report Service(4 hrs) or someone can start his or her own green plumbing company but for that they need to have a green plumbers license. Green plumbing has become a very important aspect of our life now days so now and in future green plumbers will play a big role in our society.
